Conversations with Daddy D

Daddy D and I have our own special form of communication. I tend to harass him until he breaks down and lets me have my way or dissolves into tears whichever comes first. LOL Normally this only takes a small amount of time unless I am really having to convince him of something extraordinary.

Sometimes we have conversations that aren't based around me getting something. People who know us think I am mean to him but what they don't know is that it is a vital part of our family dynamic. Seriously Daddy D doesn't talk much the only way to get him to talk to me is to harass him until he does. I personally think he loves it!

So I thought I would give you a small sample of how our conversations go.

Me: OOOOH Look at that cute kitty on tv
Daddy D: silence
Me: AAAWWWW she is pregnant and is going to have 3 kittens
Daddy D: Possible grunt but more likely more silence
Me: And look she is white just like Ellie they match
Daddy D: Funny look
Me: We should adopt her and name her Sheba
Daddy D: NO we are not getting another pet
Me: Why not? She just a kitty and we are getting ready to move on to a 1 acre lot with lots of barns around she would be fine and so would her kitties.
Daddy D: No we are not getting a another pet.
Me: But Daddy D
Daddy D: No
Me: Come on why not
Daddy D: No
(this is when it gets really good)
Me: Why do you have to crush all my dreams all you ever say is NO!
Daddy D: NO
Me: But I have wanted a white cat for years and that one needs a home and anyway it can be Bug's cat you know how your cat hates her. Are you really willing to deprive your daughter of the experience of having a cat that likes her just because you only know how to say no?
Daddy D: No
Me: Ok so I will call and see about getting her adopted.
Daddy D: What?
Me: Well you just said you don't want to deprive Bug of having a cat of her own.
Daddy D: No I didn't
Me: Yes you did
Daddy D: silent glare
Daddy D: We are not getting a cat
Daddy D: more silent glare
Me: fine!
Me: walk away giggling and tell him he is cut off for a week for being mean

I hate being Albino Woman!

How the hell do I get a sunburn in the middle of a storm? I mean seriously people I look like a lobster and I know there is no way I got anymore than 15 minutes of full sun all day. I am telling everyone it is a windburn, rain burn, hail burn and denying any possibility that it was related to the sun!

WHY ME! I am the queen of sunscreen due to a skin condition I have and am completely anal about putting it on everyone around me. So how does this happen? I guess I figured full cloud cover was enough to cover my Albino butt. LOL

Wanna read something funny that will completely explain how I feel when I get in the water? Here ya go! Tammy's Rambling

Wimpy Ass strikes again!

I swear I am going to have to take this lady out back and beat her!

Wimpy Ass just sent me another email on how the "nice people" at the fund raising company were "oh so nice" and let her just keep the 300.00 we have in checks. I emailed back and asked her why they thought we had 300.00 in checks when we don't? Wimpy Ass says well I gave them the total off all the checks we collected. I reminded her "AGAIN" that two of those checks totaling 200.00 were written directly to the league and were not to be included in the fund raising total. The parents who wrote those checks specifically wrote them to the league so that all the money went to the league. Wimpy's reply, "OOPS now what do I do?"

ARGHHHHH You are a dumb ass lady!!!! I swear I am going to wind up having to call the fund raising company and straighten all this out. What scares me more than anything-----Wimpy Ass is a middle school teacher!! How in God's name is she teaching the youth of America when she can't even read a simple set of guidelines and remember what is going on?

OK I promise I am going to let it go and this is the last you will hear about her........unless I need bail money for killing her at the pool party this Friday :O LOL

Stupid Stupid Decision

Today we decided to take the girls out on the boat and go to a local crab shack on the water. Daddy D checked the forecast and it said that storm were coming in but that they were a long way away and they were not supposed to show up until late in the day. Of course that is the same forecast we have had for several days now and nothing has happened. Daddy D is THE MAN when it comes to the weather forecast so I took him at his word and off we went.

It took forever to get to the crab shack because our boat is small and the waves were big, but we made it and waited for the really cool shuttle boat to come take us in to the crab shack. I got a funny feeling in my stomach when the shuttle driver told me to put out more line on my anchor because there was a storm coming. We decided it would be a good idea to wait out the storm in the safety of the crab shack. Once the storm appeared to be over we headed back up the river to our launch site and all hell broke out.

We hit wind, then rain, then hail so bad that I felt like I was getting pummeled with shard of glass trying to get us the hell out of there. At one point it got so bad I had the kids get down on the bottom of the boat and cover up with towels to protect their skin. I was scared but I didn't let the kids know that! Daddy D couldn't drive because his glasses were so wet he couldn't see. How I did it I don't know because water was flying up into my eyes so bad I had to wear sunglasses to keep my contacts in.

We made it home and I plan to NEVER EVER EVER EVER do that again! Someone must have been saying a prayer for us today.

Wimpy Women

Wimpy women annoy the hell out of me! Why is it that some women can hold a job, run a household, and raise kids but when it comes time to put your foot down and say enough is enough they just can't do it? Is there some genetic mutation that we carry that makes us physically and mentally unable to put an end to the torment? I only ask because the other team parent (who we will call Wimpy ASS) for Bug's lacrosse team is driving me freaking MAD!

First let me say that I hate fund raising with a passion and nothing you say will make me feel any different about it. So this year for Bug's lacrosse team I volunteered to be a team parent but said I DID NOT want to be the fund raising parent. I was willing to assist and give ideas but I didn't want to be in charge of it or have to keep track of it. Anyway long story short we went with a fundraiser I did last year and had moderate success with. It was the simplest and least expensive with the best chance of bringing in money IF you did it the way they tell you to.

Of course Wimpy ASS did it the wrong way and basically none of the information got out to people. Now it is time to wrap up the finances and turn them in and Wimpy ASS keeps waffling back and forth with the company we worked with. They actually asked her for a bunch of paperwork that was not part of the original deal and instead of saying NO she emailed the parents to supply it. It just makes no sense! The money has to be in by the 15th and she wants to collect paperwork on the 11th. How in the hell she is planning to get the paperwork turned in to the company and get a check back by the 15th I have no idea. WIMPY ASS!

I have been patient with her all season and tried to let her do it herself but I finally decided to step in when I got an email asking for more ridiculous paperwork. So I emailed Wimpy ASS and told her I would supply a bunch of bullshit paperwork, scan it to the company, and tell the company the season was over and we were done. SEND US OUR MONEY! I am tired of playing games and I am tired of Wimpy ASS letting them bully her.

Maybe this bothers me so much because not too long ago I was a Wimpy ASS but for some reason now I just cant stand it! I may be a southern bell but when I talk to people about business I throw that out the window and do what needs to be done. I do my best not to be mean but I make sure I get my point across. Simply put I have learned to stand up for myself!!!! Maybe I should give Wimpy ASS lessons. LOL

No I dont read your blog for the free crap

WOW Am I the only one who gets turned off by a blog that constantly has free giveaways? I mean seriously is it that important that you have people visit every week and try to win something. Not only do you have to visit, you have to tweet, you have to register, and then your have to kiss ass to tell the blogger you did it all like a good little girl. It seems to me that alot of blogs have become more about making money and a name for yourself than about blogging. I just don't get it :(

Parenting

First let me say sorry it has been a few days my computer was acting up and wouldn't let me in here!

OK so when I started this blog it was in an attempt to find other parents of teens and pre-teens who would tell me I wasn't a complete nutso! I have noticed however that I tend to talk more about my life than my parenting issues. Since I had no intention of talking on and on and on about me (OOPS) at the time it never crossed my mind to focus on me for a blog. So I guess you guys are just going to have to live with hearing about me and the kids! LOL Just to keep your juices flowing I will post weekly updates and DRAMA about them as needed!

See here I am doing it now!

LAX Diva may have to be renamed due to our move. I mean seriously how can I name her after a sport she won’t be able to play after a few weeks. So I am considering Cheer Diva since that appears to be her new favorite thing. Other than boys that is!!!! Maybe I will start a Lacrosse league in the new state and then she would have to go back to LAX Diva. Of course now I am gun shy and I am afraid to nickname her after a sport, what happens if she quits. I don't want to confuse my readers by constantly changing names right? See what just happened I went all nutso over an internet nickname I gave my daughter. This is what I am talking about people!!!!

For some reason parenting LAX Diva is kind of in a holding pattern right now. I guess since I laid down the law she has backed off quite a bit so now I am just waiting for all hell to break lose but enjoying it while it is calm. I can already see her attitude coming back though so I am going to talk with Daddy D about helping me enforce the rules a little better now that we no longer have sports and things interfering nightly. Maybe it is just me but I feel like if I bend in the least little bit with her I wind up paying big time.

Bug just played her last lacrosse game this season and amazed us all when she didn't fall in the middle of the field yelling HALLELUJAH after the game was over. She actually said she was sad that they lost. I don't really believe her though I think she was just trying to sucker me into buying her ice cream. :P Now she is focused on the puppy and driving it insane! LOL I don’t know for sure but I think Ellie is going to give her a run for her money. She's a feisty little ball of fur.

The weird thing is that now Bug is becoming more and more of an issue. She hates the new rules, she constantly has to be reminded to do her chores, and she is getting mouthy! The mouthy part is what scares me because it reminds me of when LAX Diva around this age. I seriously don’t know if I can go through that again so I guess I am going to have to go into full on crack down mode with both of them.

Should be fun at my house right!
